ABSTRACT
This research paper investigates the pervasive issue of plastic waste pollution in Minnesota, highlighting its ecological, agricultural, and public health implications. It examines the broad spectrum of plastic waste, from large consumer items to microplastics, and the detrimental effects on ecosystems, wildlife, human health, and agriculture. The study explores technological and software-driven solutions, such as waste tracking systems and AI-based recycling technologies, as well as policy approaches that can mitigate plastic pollution. The research includes a review of key studies and provides recommendations for future sustainable waste management in the state.
